Mike Evans draws early praise in 49ers locker room
Veteran receiver Mike Evans is making an early impression in Santa Clara after joining the 49ers. George Kittle and Trent Williams described him as a rare addition to a roster already filled with established stars.
Mike Evans has quickly become one of the main storylines around 49ers spring work in Santa Clara. George Kittle compared his arrival to the 2019 addition of Emmanuel Sanders but said Evans brings a stronger career résumé, including 11 straight 1,000 yard receiving seasons.
Evans, 32, took part in organized team activities as he works to build timing with Brock Purdy. If that connection develops, he could become one of the few receivers under Kyle Shanahan in San Francisco to reach 1,000 receiving yards, joining a short list that includes Kittle, Deebo Samuel, and Brandon Aiyuk.
