Bar Malone's brings a casual neighborhood bar to the former District space near Oracle Park, with owners Gabriel Freiberg and Eric Passetti behind the project. The Townsend Street spot keeps the horseshoe bar and adds cocktails plus comfort food such as burgers, hot honey chicken thighs and steak frites.

The broader food update includes Goop Kitchen taking the former Spice Kit space at 405 Howard Street, Ajae planning Korean comfort classics on Oakland's Piedmont Avenue, and Noodle in a Haystack closing while its owners prepare a mazeman focused spot at Thrive City. A new Anchor Brewing Company filing at City Hall also suggests some movement after the brewery's 2024 sale.
