Pacific baseball coach Reed Peters dies after illness
University of the Pacific is mourning head baseball coach Reed Peters, who died unexpectedly after an illness. Peters had led the Tigers for two seasons after a long run at San Joaquin Delta College.

University of the Pacific in Stockton said head baseball coach Reed Peters died unexpectedly after an illness. Peters had just completed his second season with Pacific after 17 years leading the nearby San Joaquin Delta College baseball program.
Pacific finished the season with 24 wins, its highest total since 2014, and picked up a victory in the West Coast Conference postseason tournament. Athletic director Adam Tschuor credited Peters with lifting the program in a short time and said the school plans to keep building on what he started.
