Noodle in a Haystack was a 12 seat ramen tasting restaurant known for a hard to get reservation list and a $306 nine course menu with beverage pairing. The owners said the small operation no longer worked financially and had become physically demanding, even with steady demand.

Their next restaurant, Mazé, is planned for this winter in the former GluGlu space at Thrive City. The menu is expected to focus on mazemen, with dishes tied to past Noodle in a Haystack recipes, plus fried chicken and naturally leavened nama doughnuts.
